Research Thrusts
Trucking is a critical segment of the economy, supporting the supply chains of many other sectors. Nearly every good consumed in the U.S. is transported by truck for at least a part of its journey. Despite being a vital industry, the trucking sector remains the least automated and most labor-intensive, and causes the most fatalities and pollution of all transport modes.

Our center focuses on the future of trucking in three main areas; the Electrification of Trucking, the Automation of Trucking, and the Human Elements in Freight and Logistics. By looking at the future of trucking as a system of these three, interrelated topics, we expect to advance the ability to transport goods with greater efficiency and reduced accidents and fatalities.
